Milan is known to be a nice city but a bit low on the
sights. For this reason we intended to use our day in the city to walk around
and get a sense of the city. Undertook to walk from our somewhat remote hostel
to the Milan Duomo, which Wikipedia calls the 5th biggest church in
the world.
It is surrounded by a glitzy shopping district that we walk through seeing the views.
The Duomo was really interesting with an intricately carved gothic outside and an even more intricately carved inside. That seen, we headed to Castello Storzesco and walked through it and it’s adjoining gardens.
After seeing these we were pretty tired and headed back to the hostel through another big shopping area, along Corso Buenos Airies. We rested for a while once we got back and ate some of the snacks we had procured along the way. It was rather late when we decided to get dinner, probably at least partially due to the prior snacking and as such the local kebab place was our best food option.
