April 7:
Once 2:30am rolled around we did some last minute checks to
make sure our stuff was packed and then headed down to reception to check out
and get a cab called for us. I was super excited for Greece, partially because
of lust for warm weather and partially because of my sleep deprivation
and the highly caffeinated fuel I was running on. We got to the airport way ahead
of time and waited until we could check our bags. Once through security we had
to wait another hour or so before we got our gate so we spent time perusing the
airport shops then getting some food. The flight was two and a half hours and
about fifteen minutes in I was asleep. I woke just as we were about to begin
our decent and surprise surprise, the general lack of sleep and recycled
airplane air had gotten me sick. Once we landed and collected our bags we headed
to our hostel, the City Circus Athens. It took us a while as we were not
exactly where we thought we would be but it all worked out in the end. Once we
checked in we still had an hour until our beds would be ready so we went to get
some lunch.
Once we ate our beds were ready and we crawled in for a few hours
rest.
It was around 2pm and our only plan was to meet up with my friend Alice and one of her friends for dinner around 7pm. Though I tried and was unable to nap the time flew by and soon enough it was time to go meet Alice.
Dinner was fun and by the time we left it was almost 11pm. We headed back to the hostel for the night.
