Fortress

April 18:
Today we got up late as per our new usual. The day showed promise as it was sunny, a sad rarity in the past couple days. With high hopes we packed our beach bags, got gyros and headed to the beach. Once there we ate and read. This didn’t last long though because even though we were pretty bundled up against the wind it proved too biting for our unprotected feet. We headed back to the hostel and decided that we should take advantage of the sun and go see the fortress, aka Rethymno’s landmark. We went and saw the sights. It was interesting and allowed some beautiful views of the town and the turbulent seas. While at the fortress I realized my camera was rather short on memory and in fact I only had ten pictures left at the time. This spurred me to get the photos off my camera and in the latter days to start the tedious process of retroactively updating my blog posts to add pictures to them. Here are my pictures for the day:

Oh, and cats and dog are everywhere in Greece. The are just strays everywhere, especially cats in Rethymno, much fewer dogs here.
