April 10:
We had spent our three booked nights in the City Circus
Hostel and we still had no idea how we were getting to the Greek islands. With
this in mind, once we got our stuff packed up and out of our rooms to check out, we asked if we could extend our stay
for two more nights. We could though we would have to change rooms. Our new
room was already ready so we headed up there to drop our stuff of and started
researching Greek islands and their associated ferries. After a while we had
settled on going to Crete, the southern most and largest of the Greek islands,
first. That settled we decided to go out for some food and decided to walk
through the Greek National Gardens, which are beside their parliament
buildings. We had walked through them briefly while on our way to dinner with
Alice. They were very beautiful and had bamboo, and orange trees as well as
fountains and a zoo of sorts.
Once we had seen the gardens we headed back to the hostel to relax for a bit. Once back we booked the Rethymno Youth Hostel in Crete. When we got hungry we ventured out in search of souvlaki but ran into a Indian-to-go restaurant on the way and decided to get that instead. On our way home we bought beer then went up to the patio to eat and drink while watching some tv.
