So I got to Paris. Train travel through a wrench in the works but nothing we could not overcome. On our first train of the day, the one to Roosendaal, we were informed that there was an earlier train to Antwerp then we had planned on taking. Once we reached Roosendaal we realized that the train was leaving almost immediately and was just across the platform from us. We got on allowing us to have a longer stay in Antwerp to relax and grab some breakfast.
After those planned activities we went to our platform to wait for our train, but there was a problem, the train had an issue in a tunnel and was no longer coming to our station. I talked to a railway employee and she assured us if we popped over to another platform there would be a train there that we could one stop down the line and catch our other train there. I'm not really sure how it was supposed to work but fortunately I didn't need to. After consulting an employee on this unplanned train, it turned out it was going to our stop in Brussels. Problem averted. On the high speed train to Paris we met some cool Australian girls who were traveling for the month. They had been to Berlin a few days prior so we traded ideas. We departed their company though as we departed the train.
Once we got to Paris it was only two short train rides and a little walk to our hostel. After checking in and relaxing a bit we got some advice from the hostel staff and headed out for some 5pm lunch. We found a place with really good 3 Euro baguette sandwiches. On our way back we stopped into a grocer to grab some supplies then headed back to the hostel to eat and watch Archer. Followed by a much needed nap.
Once we had eventually arisen it was close to 11 and after meeting our roommates we decided to call it a night. Tomorrow at 10 we will wake and figure out our plans for the day.
I hate you so much right now. Paris is my favourite city.
