Orsay

February 15th:
I got up early the next morning and after some rough packing grabbed some breakfast. I ate with some cool Australians. After I wrapped up eating I put the finishing touches on my packing. We decided to go and store our bags at the hostel for the day. We had no plans yet for the day so we went souvenir shopping with our Argentinian roommate in the Parisian shopping district. After he had picked up some stuff for his family we dropped in to a café for some lunch. I had a sausage baguette sandwich, which was pretty good. After we decided to wander fairly aimlessly through the heart of the Parisian shopping distrect and even saw a model taking pictures in front of a flagship store.

As we wandered we neared the obelisk and could see Musée d'Orsay. Pat had wanted to see the Orsay since we got to Paris so we decided to check it out. Unfortunately JuanMa our Argentinian friend wasn’t so interested in the art gallery so he decided to walk over to the Eiffel Tower.

Orsay was really interesting. It had an amazing collection of paintings and sculptures. The highlights for me were the famous Van Gough self portrait and their collection of neo-impressionist paintings.

After a few hours of wandering there we were pretty sure we had seen it all and were plenty hungry and tired to boot. We headed back to the hostel to eat and chill for a few hours before we had to head to the train. We collected our bags, got to the train station and got on the train without any issues and prepared for waking up in Spain.
